In an attempt to get by with laughter:
This happens more than you think….When wheeling (usually uphill) I travel at a snails pace, and you here people walkin behind you but not passing. Good god, I have slllooowwwwed down foot traffic! TIP of the day, blow buy or offer help
When going thru a space clearly wide enough for 3 or 4 people I routinely watch 1 person either move way over to the side basically tip-toeing leaving enough space for 2+ wheelchairs to go thru or better yet, completely pulling off to the side to make way for the chair…..treated like an ambulance with sirens blaring!
I gotta love the hero who beats me to the handicap button for an automated door (when it’s big as a backboard on a b-ball hoop and right in the open)…..even better is when they continue to keep a hand on the door after they hit the button…..”hey buddy, you mind picking me up and carry me up those stairs!”
I see old “street people/hobo/bums” that are more independent than me…. why is this funny, not sure.
The soles of the shoes I buy may last a lifetime.
No worries about stepping in dog-sh!t…..oh wait, I now roll thru it and then get it all over my hands (yuuummy!)
I need not worry about getting a charlie-horse……never get used to that pain.
No more crowded pant pockets for this guy……they don’t even exist anymore.
Good thing prior to my injury I did plenty of calf raises and and other leg exercises….what a waste….all so I could be stranded with the 2 noodles I got right now?
I have disabled people everywhere dieing to help me out…..misery loves company…….ayyy-ooohh!
Eric:
I want to go back. It’s a fantastic way to capture the vacation. You did a great job and should seriously consider book writing.
Thank you for sharing this with me.
Ed
